McIntosh Labs at Cloney Audio

We are delighted to add McIntosh Labs, one of the most iconic brands to our roster of fine audio systems.

Founded in 1949, by Frank McIntosh and legendary designer Gordon Gow, McIntosh was a prime mover in establishing “Hi Fidelity’ sound.

McIntosh products continue to be designed and handcrafted at its Binghamton, NY factory.

One of the most distinctively styled brands in audio is distinguished by its famous front-panel teal blue illumination - a Gordon Gow innovation that dates from the 1960s.

But looks would be nothing if the sound did not match up - and it most certainly does. From powering the Beach Boy’s Pet Sounds through the Grateful Dead’s Wall of Sound, through to today’s high end, McIntosh continues to impress.

Numerous reviews have raved about the McIntosh sound. Backing this up, independent measurements by Stereophile have confirmed that subjective evaluation is backed up by absolutely top notch audio engineering.

We found this ourselves in auditioning our initial shipment of pre/power and integrated McIntosh Labs amplifiers. Straight out of the box, we were greeted by a big, refined and ultra dynamic sound - along with those stellar looks. Stone cold and out of the box is an absolute worst case for any piece of electronics, so those first impressions really do count. From there, things have only gotten better.

We would be delighted to tell you more about McIntosh and to show what these fine amplifiers can do.
