Back in 1973 A J Van den Hul designed a new type of stylus profile known as the Type One which went on to be used by many established phono cartridge companies including Goldring, EMT, Adcom, Ortofon, Audio Note and many others.

In due course, this led to the introduction of the A J’s own range of phono cartridges. We introduced the, now legendary Van den Hul MC One to Ireland in the 80’s and it found a large pool of enthusiastic customers.

One great advantage of Van den Hul Cartridges is that they track securely and relatively low tracking force and, consequently, have a very long service life. And even when a stylus replacement is due, Van den Hul will rebuild the cartridge to “as new” condition for a very competitive price.

Following the success of his cartridge designs, Van den Hul moved into signal cable design and manufacture and was one of the architects of the cable revolution. Van den Hul has spawned genuine innovations such as the Hulliflex sheathing which does not degrade over time, and the revolutionary approach to using carbon as a signal conductor.
