The Art of System Matching
Any great recipe needs fine ingredients, but it takes a great cook to bring them all together. Hi-Fi is a bit like that. Buying a system based solely on reviews can often result in disappointment where the whole ends up as less than the sum of the parts. That’s where we come in. From the 1960s onwards, the Cloney family have built up a vast experience in rigorously listening to countless amplifiers, turntables, speakers, and even cables. We do this to understand each components’ sonic signature and how it interfaces with others in the context of an overall system.
We take this further through our installation service, where we learn how different systems work in different rooms - and not just in perfectly optimised non domestic environments. We also get regular feedback from other trusted listeners, including music professionals and recording engineers, which augments our own testing.
Our experience of analogue turntables is probably unrivalled, as we have been setting up turntables, tonearms and cartridges for over fifty years, right through the CD era and into the new heyday of vinyl.
With this experience, we provide expert, professional advice dedicated to helping our customers get the best out of their systems.
We have always offered demonstration facilities (currently, for your safety, by appointment only) where you can listen and compare our Hi-Fi in a relaxed, no pressure environment.
The bottom line is that for us, it’s all about sound; about the magic of bringing music to life, whatever the medium, vinyl, CD or streaming.
