The new Bowers & Wilkins 800 Series
October 22nd, 2015
Building on over 40 years of speaker knowledge Bowers & Wilkins have redesigned their flagship speakers from the inside out.
Their all new “Continuum cone” was an 8 year research project – going through over seventy iterations before reaching the final product. Utilising computer modelling Bowers & Wilkins has constructed a slim design inert platform for the new drive units to work from.
Built using wood ply with a metal reinforcement cabinet, this new braced frame offers an incredibly rigid platform for the new Aerofoil bass cone to resonate.
Atop of all that the turbine twin head built out of aluminium serves two purposes ; designed to reduce the mechanical resonance to a bare minimum and aid sound dispersion for their unique diamond tweeter.
The new Bowers & Wilkins 800 “D3” series is now on demonstration in our Blackrock shop
